Residence for a serial entrepreneur and his artist wife, the house was designed on a linear plot of land close to the coastline off the East coast road between Chennai and Mahabalipuram. Part of a gated community, the shorter span of the plot faced the sea on the east. Spread over two levels, the master bedrooms were on the upper level and the fathers bedroom was on the ground level with the common facilities. A large pitched roof ran through the length of the house with the ridge along the centre of the corridor. Except the living and bedroom spaces, the other parts of the house were naturally ventilated. Internal courtyards, water bodies towards the sea, live green curtains along the corridors were elements used to cool the air that would flow through the house.
