2,800 sq.ft.
Completed
Andheri, Mumbai.
This 1,600 sq. ft. workspace for New Jack Press in Mumbai was conceptualized, designed, and completed within an intensive 40-day timeline. Located within an industrial complex, the site included a partial mezzanine floor, which was retained and thoughtfully integrated into the design to create a dynamic play of volumes and spatial hierarchy.
The client envisioned an open-plan office that simultaneously respected the privacy required by the organizational structure. Responding to this, the design facilitates transparency and collaboration, while subtly demarcating zones for different functions and personnel levels.
The lower level, situated beneath the mezzanine, was optimized for printing operations, with tailored lighting and functional planning to support production needs. The upper mezzanine level was repurposed as a creative studio, offering a quieter, more contemplative workspace.
At the heart of the layout, the double-height central volume serves as both a circulation spine and a defining spatial feature. It accommodates the three directors’ cabins, giving them prominence within the space while maintaining openness and connectivity with the rest of the office.
This adaptive reuse approach minimized structural alterations, enabling quicker execution while aligning with the sustainable reuse of industrial spaces.
