STULZ Centre for Excellence – Navi Mumbai
Following the successful completion of their corporate office, STULZ India once again entrusted the design team to create their first Centre for Excellence in India, located within a three-storeyed building adjoining their manufacturing facility in Navi Mumbai. As the flagship space for the German precision cooling brand, the design was intended to set the benchmark for future centres across the country.
The brief called for a minimalist yet impactful design language, blending functionality with subtle sophistication. The chosen palette of greens, greys, and whites established a clean and calm aesthetic, with an emphasis on natural light, wellness, and openness.
The architectural expression retained exposed RCC surfaces, allowing the scale and honesty of materials to define the spatial quality. The open office floors were structured around a visible grid of beams, within which acoustic panels and integrated lighting were seamlessly embedded—maintaining both spatial clarity and acoustic comfort.
A predominantly white interior palette enhanced the reflection of daylight, creating a bright, vibrant, and liveable work environment. Every modular workstation was thoughtfully designed to include integrated planters and storage, forming self-contained microclimates that supported employee wellness and added visual warmth.
Corridors were lined with greenery, subtly guiding circulation and elevating the overall mood. The boardroom was treated with greater formality, using pastel highlights and lush window-side planting to soften the ambience and encourage creative dialogue.
An innovative ceiling system in the boardroom incorporated suspended acoustic panels that concealed a projector when not in use, while also delivering uniform, glare-free lighting.
The STULZ Centre for Excellence reflects a thoughtful synthesis of precision engineering and human-centered design, creating a functional, adaptable, and inspiring workplace aligned with the brand’s global identity yet sensitively rooted in its Indian context.
