The Wardrobe Company – Flagship Store
Crafting Identity Through Subtle Drama
The Wardrobe Company (TWC), as its name suggests, is a multi-brand retail destination for wardrobes catering to a diverse range of styles and budgets. With the launch of their flagship store, the brand sought to carve a distinct identity—an architectural expression that would reflect its unique positioning in the modular and custom wardrobe market.
Backed by the design legacy of its parent company, Grandeur Interiors, the promoters placed complete trust in the architects to create a memorable and effective retail identity. The goal: attract attention and invite curiosity, all within the constraints of a compact urban frontage.
Due to the limited width facing the road and the wide variety of products housed inside, a conventional storefront display wasn’t feasible. This design challenge led to an unconventional and engaging solution—a strategically placed, modestly sized window punctuating the facade. This “peek-through” element created intrigue, offering curated glimpses into the monochromatic, meticulously styled wardrobe vignettes within. The minimal yet striking display, crafted by the TWC team, effectively engaged pedestrians and drew them in.
Internally, the store featured a compact mezzanine level reserved for staff and support services, allowing the main floor to remain fully dedicated to retail. The spatial layout was designed with adaptability in mind—capable of accommodating wardrobes of varying sizes and typologies, ensuring relevance through seasonal updates and evolving design trends.
The result is a quiet yet confident architectural identity—one that invites curiosity, celebrates change, and sets the foundation for a growing brand.
