A Recreational Oasis for a Community of Jewellers
Nestled in the serene hill station of Lonavla, Club Aavkar was envisioned as a recreational nucleus for a residential enclave of bungalows designed specifically for a close-knit community of jewellers. The clubhouse serves as a multi-functional leisure space—integrating sport, play, and social engagement—while responding to the site’s lush surroundings and the community’s need for transparency, openness, and connection.
The planning emphasizes visual and spatial openness, encouraging effortless flow and interaction between diverse activity zones. Designed to accommodate casual sports and games, the facility includes:
A semi-open badminton court
Indoor gaming rooms for carrom, cards, and billiards
Dedicated children’s play areas equipped with jungle gyms and interactive zones
The swimming pool forms the vibrant heart of the clubhouse—characterized by its organic form and playful color palette, it is designed as a sensory haven. Features such as cascading waterfalls into the pool amplify the excitement for children and enhance the overall ambience.
A sweeping curvilinear floating roof ties the entire clubhouse together, both literally and symbolically. It gracefully spans across the facility, providing shelter, fluidity, and a unified architectural language that binds all the varied functions under a single expressive form.
More than just a leisure hub, Club Aavkar stands as a thoughtfully crafted social catalyst—celebrating community, recreation, and a connection to nature.
